A week ago I made a little trip to Sephora early in the day, right after my little girl woke up from her nap (new mom here).
I wanted to try something new, new foundation, new concealer, new blush, new everything. I’ve been kinda bored with my usual makeup routine and products and wanted a change. Also my face has changed a bit, more dryness, dark circles and a bit of melasma in the upper lip wasn’t helping.
All of you know that I love Make Up For Ever HD but with the skin changes I’ve had this past year, it just wasn’t giving me the coverage I needed. Plus the hectic day to day activities and carrying a 22lbs baby was making me sweat a bit more than just sitting on a comfy chair in an office (back when I used to work) and noticed that my foundation was melting off and not lasting long enough. Which sucks because if you wake up at 7am and have to run errands, do chores around the house etc etc by 2pm I would look like I had barely any makeup on. Continue reading »

Went to Sephora during the weekend to exchange some stuff that I wasn’t happy with.
First, sadly, it was my Illamasqua blush in Hussy that I bought back in January. It was a very pretty color but it just didn’t work with my skin complexion. I tried different color combos but I just couldn’t make it look good. booo
I ended up getting some Sephora mattifying foundation powder to play around with, since it was on sale at $5 so I bought two different colors, light and dark to use for a little of contour. Let me say that they are very drying, I tend to have oily skin but if you skin is not exfoliated well you can see the dry skin when you apply this.
Oh and don’t use it below your eyes, makes the eye skin area look super dry and wrinkly… not good.
Now the NARS sheer matte foundation is REALLY good. I tried it that same day and it hold up really well. My face didn’t get greasy at all, but again it’ll be a good idea to exfoliate well and maybe use a tiny bit of moisturizer before applying this foundation.
The only thing I did notice about this one, is that it is really hard to apply. It’s hard to get out of the bottle and then it just doesn’t spread well so you really have to work it. It’s also kinda sheer so you have to build up the coverage with 2 or 3 layers in some areas.
I guess it’s a good foundation for summer so that’s why I’m keeping it. I’ll still have my Make Up For Ever HD foundation for other times when I want a more dewy finish on my skin.
And to finish off a nice Saturday I went to eat sushi with my better half… This is just a bonus pic to entertain you lol. nom nom nom
Hope everyone had a fun Easter week!

While making a little trip to Target a stumble upon these new little “lipsticks” and even thought the rack was almost empty I did find these two pretty colors. I was shocked they were almost sold out because they have a huge range of colors that I would’ve loved to try out.
The ones that I ended up buying are “Made-It Mauve” (left) and “Go Nude” (right).
Maybelline’s website says: “Pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel.
No heavy waxes or oils”.
I’m not sure what this gel thing is, but these remind me a lot of L’Oreal Caresse because they are very smooth and sheer (just one layer). You still get enough pigment to see the color but they aren’t as heavy as regular lipstick which is nice.
From both colors that I bought I’m definitely using “Go Nude” the most, especially since it has a very peachy tone to it, which is different that the other pink/nudes that I own.
Still a good buy, they last a pretty decent amount of time, like 2 hours. It’s similar to a lip gloss but without the sticky part. They make your lips feel soft, the pigment is pretty good so you can definitely have some fun trying out some bright colors like the “Berry Red” or a Plum Prospect”, which sadly they didn’t have in stock, and enough it gives shine without the use of lip gloss on top.

Illamasqua Review: Naked Rose blush
What can I say about the Illamasqua Naked Rose blush… First of all I’ve been using Revlon blushes for a long time and I like them, I really do. The day I decided to purchase this one is because I wanted to try a high end blush and see if there was really a big difference. Continue reading »

Lorac Pro Review: Amazing new palette

It’s been a couple of days already since I received my Lorac Pro palette. I’ve been putting off the review for the Lorac Pro because obviously I wanted to play with it. Just days before receiving this palette I also received the Naked 2 so I really wanted to test both of them.

Just got my Naked basics palette
So finally my Sephora order arrived last night! Yay! My mini haul had the Naked Basics palette (on the left), Naked 2 palette (center), and the Illamasqua blush Naked Rose (right).
Now I love the Illamasqua blush, beautiful color but when I applied I realized I don’t have a lot of skill after using Revlon blushes and Maybelline for so long I can of have a heavy hand since they are way less pigmented than this one. I’m thinking of getting a good blush brush and watching some tutorials on how to apply it without looking like a clown. Off I go to get my makeup done for the day!
Happy Tuesday!
