Hello Morning Sickness

Morning Sickness

Been feeling so poopy is not even funny. I can barely take the stairs to go to work, I want to sleep all the time and let’s not forget the nausea.

I haven’t thrown up yet but I do get pretty nice waves of bad nausea and food is not that appetizing at the moment… which sucks because I love to eat hehe

Still looking forward to the whole pregnancy thing, I’m only 7 weeks so far and I’ll have my ultrasound in 2 weeks! Yay!

What have you been up to?  :)

Weekend Reads

Sunrise On Flip-Flops On The Beach

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

Salt makes the hair grow fonder… or something like that. Anyways, the most important thing is that Bumble and bumble has produced counterparts to the cult-favorite Surf Spray. Thank you hair gods! (Into the Gloss)

Thanks to this product review, I need to try this Jouer Matte Moisture Tint. (Bronzer Bunny)

Bold lips is a big trend right now.  (So Much to Smile About)

Any plans for this beautiful day?

Weekend Outfit Inspiration: Mint Edition

Weekend Outfit

Are you ready for the weekend? Today is MY Friday and I can’t wait! What do you think of this outfit? I love everything about it, especially the short with the little jacket, so cute to go out to dinner on a spring night.

My only plans this weekend is to go watch Oblivion (lovee sci fi movies) and eat some truffle fries! I’ve been craving truffles fries the whole week… so it’s gonna happen nom nom nom

Top 5 video tutorials for eyebrows

Eyebrows
Lately eyebrows have been my obsession lately. I’ve been playing around with different shapes and ways to fill them up, and still can’t find the quickest and easiest way to have them look perfect in less than 2 minutes.

eyebrows
I ended up purchasing Too Faced Brow Envy Kit Blond/Brunette a while ago and I love it, but it takes me a long time to do my brows in the morning. I’m sure is just because I’m getting used to it. I used to do them with a pencil so using a brush and powder to give them shape and fill them in does take some extra time.

For the curious: The eyebrow is an area of thick, delicate hairs above the eye that follows the shape of the lower margin of the brow ridges of some mammals. Their main function is to prevent sweat, water, and other debris from falling down into the eye socket, but they are also important to human communication and facial expression. It is not uncommon for people – women in particular – to modify their eyebrows by means of hair addition, removal, makeup, tattoo, or piercings.

Still I won’t complain, having well defined brows is a must… Some people can get away with just their natural eyebrows but mine are sparce so I need to fill out with some powder or pencil or I’ll just look super weird.

See? Eyebrows do make a big difference! Here I compiled a list of the best tutorials for eyebrows. Some of them are simpler than other, while some of the videos show you a more arched and highlighted brow (which I never have time to try on myself): Continue reading »

How I make my skin look flawless: By faking it

Flawless skin

Not everyone has perfect, flawless skin, and certainly I don’t. I have big pores, a few freckles and I’m starting to get some lines under my eyes.

But you can FAKE flawless skin, you only need the right products.

In the next few days I’ll review some of the products you see in this picture but honestly, first step for flawless skin, exfoliate!

Clarisonic

You need a smooth canvas to start with, and nothing is better than exfoliated skin, that way you get rid of that extra layer of gunk that normal face cleansers don’t get rid off.

Second step, moisturize or use a good primer… In my case I go with primer. My face tends to get greasy and I hate the oily feeling some moisturizers leave on my skin. If you have dry skin then moisturize and follow it by a good primer like Smashbox.

Smashbox Primer

Third step, a good foundation and concealer (I’ll put this two together). NARS, Make Up For Ever, etc etc. There are tons of them but currently I use NARS sheer matte foundation and Make Up For Ever HD foundation. Go to Sephora, or Ulta and play around with different foundations or ask for help, I’m sure they’ll be happy to help you find something that fits your needs.

If you prefer to buy a cheaper foundation because you don’t want to spend too much money on makeup then try L’Oreal True Match. They have a great variety of colors to choose from and it has great coverage.

My other drugstore foundation recommendation would be Revlon Colorstay. Again, great coverage and it’s really good for oily skin.

For concealer, I’m using NARS radiant creamy concealer and it’s amazing. A cheaper version that it’s always good is Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, less pigmented but it’s pretty good for the price.

Last but not least, a setting powder. In the picture above you can take a pic of my new  Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. If you can splurge on it, then awesome, it works really really well, but you’ll read more on it on my review this week.

If not e.l.f studio high definition powder, it’s very similar to Make Up For Ever HD microfinish powder, way cheaper and it gives the same effect. Just be careful not to over do it since it can leave a white cast or it can show up in pictures, so use a light hand.

The rest is just easy,  some blush (maybe Maybelline FIT or Illamasqua which is my fave), mascara, lipgloss, etc etc.

In summary, how do you achieve flawless skin? EXFOLIATE, PRIMER, FOUNDATION, AND SETTING POWDER, with emphasis on exfoliation and primer. Those two make a huge difference!

Have fun!

Weekend fun at Sephora

Nars

Went to Sephora during the weekend to exchange some stuff that I wasn’t happy with.

First, sadly, it was my Illamasqua blush in Hussy that I bought back in January. It was a very pretty color but it just didn’t work with my skin complexion. I tried different color combos but I just couldn’t make it look good. booo

I ended up getting some Sephora mattifying foundation powder to play around with, since it was on sale at $5 so I bought two different colors, light and dark to use for a little of contour. Let me say that they are very drying, I tend to have oily skin but if you skin is not exfoliated well you can see the dry skin when you apply this.

Oh and don’t use it below your eyes, makes the eye skin area look super dry and wrinkly… not good.

Now the NARS sheer matte foundation is REALLY good. I tried it that same day and it hold up really well. My face didn’t get greasy at all, but again it’ll be a good idea to exfoliate well and maybe use a tiny bit of moisturizer before applying this foundation.

The only thing I did notice about this one, is that it is really hard to apply. It’s hard to get out of the bottle and then it just doesn’t spread well so you really have to work it. It’s also kinda sheer so you have to build up the coverage with 2 or 3 layers in some areas.

I guess it’s a good foundation for summer so that’s why I’m keeping it. I’ll still have my Make Up For Ever HD foundation for other times when I want a more dewy finish on my skin.

Sushi

And to finish off a nice Saturday I went to eat sushi with my better half… This is just a bonus pic to entertain you lol. nom nom nom

Hope everyone had a fun Easter week!

Getting my hands on some beeswax cream

Savannah Bee Company

Remember that awesome Honey store I told about? Well I found a little treasure that day.

While perusing their aisles and having a wonderful time tasting their varieties of honey, I found a little table with different beeswax products.

I wanted to buy all of them but obviously, I’m not made of money so I decided to purchase their Beeswax Hand Cream!

hand cream

Yum yum yum, what a treat. I didn’t eat it, but I used daily to moisturize my hand, arms, feet, legs etc etc. Smells sooo good, and it’s super silky. It contains Sweet Almond and Pecan Oils, and you can definitely smell a little bit of the almond.

They really have some awesome products so go ahead and check out their website, they have some delicious honey and great body products!

*This is not a paid post!!  I just loved the place   :D

Michael Kors smells like Spring

Michael Kors perfume

This is my mini Sephora haul. I got Michael Kors, which I had before, and my DH bought me Michael Kors Rose Edition.

I love both of them, but I do prefer the original instead of the Rose Edition. The Rose Edition is a little bit more floral and less potent that the regular Michael Kors but besides that, it also doesn’t last that long is my skin as the original version.

Still I do recommend both of them. They smell very unique, not sweet at all.

From the Sephora site:

Michael Kors:

Notes:
Dewy Freesia, Tamarind, Chinese Osmanthus, Incense, Fresh Tuberose, White Wings Peony, Blue Orris, Arum Lilies, Cashmere Woods, Musk, Vetiver Haiti.
Style:
Sophisticated. Sensual. Warm.

From Macys site for Michael Kors Rose Edition:

Product Details
Show-stopping. Like a chunky cocktail ring, Michael Kors Gold The New Rose Edition eau de parfum makes a statement. Luminous pink pepper with a deeply voluptuous bouquet of tuberose and a whisper of a creamy sandalwood. Radiant Glamour. Undeniably feminine. Experience the newest fragrance from Michael Kors with the Gold Rose Edition Perfume collection.
Definitely try them out, you won’t regret it!
